Balloon / sonde flight
Forecast altitude by elapsed flight time and distance along the calculated trajectory.
Weather layers use their own selected time.
Add one or more actual GPS packets. The last accepted packet becomes the start of a new forecast.
Select a point on the horizontal flight segment and drag the yellow handle vertically. The route after that time will be recalculated with wind at the new altitude.
Select a target on the map. The planner will choose reachable altitude layers and forward-check the schedule with the engineering resource model.
Apply this exact altitude schedule to all physical GEFS members. This is a probabilistic estimate, not a guarantee.
